Brigawoo

Honda Rune.
The Big Media is still trying to convince me not to get a motorcycle.
I'm not 100% convinced that Harley Davidson motorcycles really look substantially better than Hondas. I realize that much is lost, ostensibly, in the "cool" factor when your bike isn't a Harley. Although I'm sure you could have a great deal of attitude if you had a Triumph (if only because of the Jethro Tull song.)
And it looks like Actors Equity does not work the same way in Chicago as New York. Most starting-out actors in New York I know try to get into Actors Equity as a way of showing how "professional" they are. That doesn't seem to be the case in Chicago. Hmm...

harley, while still cool, has lost a lot of cache in the last while. hard to be the rebel outlaw and take huge bailout money. and now with them opening plants overseas for parts, the patriotards are a tad less lovestruck. harley is also a bike reputed to need constant maintenance whereas honda and the other japanese makers are building reliable, cost effective and very cool rides.

if biker cred is important, norton, triumph, bsa and indian are also perfectly acceptable scoots. of course there is also the attendant rarety and expense to contend with. a good thing though is that young folk are all wrapped up in the go-fast, penis compensators. so older, cool rides are sometimes to be found hiding in the want ads. the only thing keeping me from exercising my middle aged desire for a bike is the lunatic car drivers littering the streets.

Can we have some car-free roads so that riding motorcycles isn't so dangerous? ;-)
