I've been reading the Commonwealth Saga books. They're well-written almost to a fault as the plot can go off on some melodramatic tangents while all of humanity is at stake. But otherwise I really like the Tochee alien.
You know what's 55 minutes long so far? The edit of Android Insurrection, that's what. And that's without acts 1, 2, and (I think) 8.
