Blake Snyder 1952-2009

Blake Snyder, the author of Save the Cat -- The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need, died today.

In two weeks I was going to meet Blake at his seminar here in New York.

I'm saddened by this sudden loss.

I'd only emailed a couple times with Blake but he did send me an extra copy of Save the Cat (as I keep giving them away.)

And Flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest...

I'm a closet screenwriter...always cooking up little plotlines in my head and on paper that either drift into oblivion or are hurled into oblivion, never to see the light of day. Maybe his book can help me escape this infernal loop...can you spare a copy for me?

*I'm going to look this book up later on at the bookstore...and RIP to the author.

I gave away my last one (again). But the book will be in almost any large-ish bookstore.
You'll find it's very good for figuring out which ideas will make for a longer screenplay and how the ideas should be arranged. Of course, I'm a complete convert. ;-)
