What happened on Mars?

I love this comic, Automata, from Penny Arcade. Aesthetically we might use that as inspiration for Sleeper Agent.

I watch these Andrew Kramer tutorials on After Effects and I start thinking "Of course, of course that works." It's not that I would have intuited what he's teaching in a million years, no. Just that somehow he makes it seem so clear. This tutorial on making an energy ball roll down the street is pretty fantastic. I think that maybe at least one of our gunshots in Clonehunter should be that.

I've started mixing act 1. Tomorrow I have to re-build the first shot of the movie. The render takes about 10 hours on my quad-core. So the first thing I'm going to do is to try to create this shot which the Queen of Mars thought of: a point-of-view of the satellite defense grid looking at our defenseless little ship.

Our other priorities are getting act 2 together so we can get the footage off to the composer, and figuring out how we're going to do the hoverbike chase (specifically figuring out how the backgrounds are going to work.)
